Comparison of Online Screen Recording Tools

Amit Agarwal of the Digital Inspiration blog has just published a Comparison of Online Screen Recording Tools: in which he compares the newly launched ScreenR (short for Screen + Recorder) screencasting tool from Articulate which is a free web based screencasting tool that lets you create up to 5-minute long digital recordings of your computer screen from any web browser without requiring software.

The results, compared here against other similar tools, certainly look impressive. I’ll be giving ScreenR a test drive soon!

  1. Hopefully I will get a chance to do the same soon, but do post your results here Chris if you get there first, wont you?

  2. Hello, Chris. Where is the results? Please share it. I’m an active user of screen recording software, tried several relevant tools to record online meeting, live show, cool videos, but can hardly find any software capable to fulfill all those requirements. There tool satisfy me most is Acethinker Free Screen Recorder. You can add it to your comparison.

    • I’d recommend Acethinker Free Screen Recorder which I have used for many years. It is a web-based tool that lets you record your screen right from your browser. You don’t have to install any additional plug-ins or add-ons.

  3. I adopted Camtasia for most of my screen recording and use Jing for short screencasts. I probably need to have another look. 7 years have passed since this post!
