Thank you to those who gave feedback on our Zoom training earlier this summer. In response to this, SALT’s ‘Zoom for Teaching’ sessions are now taking the form of more ‘hands-on’, online workshops, available to all Swansea University academic staff. Details of upcoming sessions can be found on our Events Page , which will be updated regularly as and when sessions are planned in relation to demand.

Due to the nature of the workshops, which allow for practice in managing breakout rooms, running polls etc., registration is limited to small groups of participants, with a waiting list when sessions become fully booked / in the event of a cancellation. Workshops will not be recorded. Days and times of workshops will continue to vary, in order to be as flexible as possible.

Recordings will remain of ‘Zoom – The Basics for Teaching’ and ‘Zoom – Advanced Tools for Teaching’ sessions on this page (see below).

Upcoming “Teaching with Zoom” Online Workshops


Please register as early as possible for best chance of a securing a place – all academic staff will be notified of the upcoming workshops towards the end of each working week, in addition to them featuring on this page. Due to their nature, workshops are not recorded.


Zoom Breakout Rooms Practice Wednesday 2nd December 10:00 – 11.30
This workshop will provide hands on opportunity to a minimum of three participants (maximum ten in the session) to act as ‘Host’ and practice running breakout rooms.

Zoom Polls Practice Wednesday 9th December 13:00 – 14:30 (registration available from Thursday 3rd December 10:00)
This workshop will provide 5 academic staff members hands-on opportunity to practice running Zoom Polls.
