September IT Month

Make One Change

For the second year running, we held array of lunchtime seminars to help staff at Swansea Make One Change.

The IT month, as we fondly called it, provided the opportunity for staff share their experiences and to have a go at using some new technology to enhance their approach to learning and teaching.

Xerte Online Toolkits / LimeSurvey

LimeSurvey Logo

Helen Davies in SALT administers both the Xerte Online Toolkits and the LimeSurvey … survey tool !

  • “Xerte Toolkits” is a tool that allows you to create interactive learning resources using a variety of media.
  • LimeSurvey is an online survey tool that allows the creation and distribution of online surveys. Features include the ability to add media (images and video) to questions, conditions (or branching), allowing your respondents to only see certain questions based on answers to previous questions, and it also affords you the ability to export your survey results and analyse them in software such as Excel or SPSS.

For more information and/or to request an account, please contact Helen Davies

In addition, please keep an eye on the events page for details of Xerte training that will be delivered both on the Singleton and Bay campus this semester.

Not sure what to do? Can’t attend a course?

There is a range of CPD that you can do, often from the comfort of your chair. Our new CPD webpage outlines a range of formal and informal CPD opportunities, including links to some pedagogical literature on teaching, learning and assessment.

There’s also Make One Change ! What small change have you done to improve the teaching and learning for your students ? Tell us about it !
