Session title: Properties of Solutions – 1st Year Chemists – PH-124, Structure and Bonding

Number of students: Approx 30

Date, time and location: Friday 9th March 2018, 12:00 – 13:00, Faraday E.

Session outline:
This is a flipped learning session. Observers (as for the students) will need to watch two movies before coming to class and do a simple online quiz. The movies and quiz are held on Blackboard, so observers will be added to the module as students. You must allow a bit more time between signing up for this session and attending it to allow you to do the pre session activities – that is central to the flipped experience !!

Then in the actual session, we start with an activity for the students to do on own or in pairs. Simon then goes through it with the whole group, with and relying on their input. Then the next activity. Then he go through it…. etc. Ideally then observers would do another online quiz.

The session is essentially a series of linked group and individual activities guided by the pre-session flipped material.
