I just wanted to draw your attention to some of the resources available on the SALT website.
Did you know that we have a wiki that is crammed with useful resources and tools that academics have found useful in their teaching?
Found on the Community tab on the SALT website, the Resources Wiki lets you look through the tools to find something that might be useful for you. The menu is at the right hand side of the page, and it is sorted both alphabetically (if you know the tool you want) or by category.
This is only what academics have found. It’s an open wiki, so if you’ve used tools in your teaching that you think others might like, then please feel free to add to the pages. If you’d like some help with this then please contact the SALT Team
We also have a rather bare looking page on Mobile tools – Do you use any apps on your iPad, Galaxy Note, smartphone, or other tablet or mobile device? Why not tell us about it? All we need is the name of the product or tool, a url and a short description of what the tool does.
Do you come across useful websites that might be useful for your teaching? Or maybe not so much for you but for that new colleague in your department, or maybe it’s something education/research focused that might be useful to academics throughout the University?
Here in SALT, we have a Diigo Account. This allows us (and anyone in our group) to bookmark (or save a web page as a favourite) a website, and you can share this link with a group. Join the SALT Group at http://groups.diigo.com/group/susalt. Better still, why not set up an account and share resources with your students or peers? You can tag each bookmark with a category – the module code will be ideal!
