"The discipline of blogging has made me a more efficient scholar"

Bill Caraher of the University of North Dakota always has something interesting to say about the process of blogging. After running an academic blog (“The Archaeology of the Mediterranean World”) for two years he reflects on its value:

  1. Audience.
  2. Blogging as Professional and Social Networking.
  3. People read blogs.
  4. Content and Form.
  5. Always be Composing.

Why does he blog?

The motivations comes from two sources. One, I am energized by the idea of producing text that people want to read, and, two, the discipline of blogging has made me a more efficient scholar.

That sounds like research-led blogging …
