Facebook, IPR, Copyright……

The recent, now retracted, changes to Facebook’s terms of service have created quite a furore. It was the notion that Facebook could use your content for any purpose, even if you’ve removed it and then deleted your account, that had most people up in arms. So, Facebook wanted to take any content that you uploaded to it’s system, even if it was created outside it’s own system, and claim it for itself. Hmmm… now that sounds familiar. If such action has resulted in tens of thousands of complaints and led to threats of lodging formal complaints with the US Federal Trade Commission, I wonder if others thinking along similar lines might wish to reflect for a moment?
